Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the Islamic Republic continues to support dialogue and diplomatic engagement, but accused the United States of undermining genuine negotiations through military pressure, sanctions, and naval restrictions.

In a statement posted on X, Pezeshkian said Iran has “always welcomed dialogue and agreement” and remains open to continued diplomacy. However, he argued that Washington’s “constant breach of commitments, blockade and threats” are the main obstacles preventing meaningful progress in talks.

He further criticized what he described as contradictory US policies, stating that the world is witnessing a gap between American claims and actions. His remarks come amid renewed diplomatic activity and uncertainty over future rounds of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

White House Says Trump Has No Iran Ceasefire Deadline

Earlier, the New York Post reported that US President Donald Trump suggested a second round of talks between the United States and Iran could take place as early as Friday, raising expectations of a possible diplomatic breakthrough.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that President Trump wants Iran’s leadership to present a “unified response” to US proposals aimed at ending hostilities. She added that no fixed deadline has been set for the ceasefire extension announced earlier this week.

The diplomatic process remains fragile, with both sides publicly expressing openness to negotiations while continuing to accuse each other of escalation and bad faith. Observers say the outcome of the next round of discussions will be critical in determining whether tensions can be reduced or if the standoff will intensify further.
